The Riflessi series, Venini 2019, composed of a vitreous pictorial fabric, which takes up the Renaissance technique of cane glass, captures the chromatic rhythm of the light perceived in the water.
Each vertical segment is a colorful brushstroke of the brackish waters of the lagoon and its reflection, and is a vibrant expression of the perception that comes from the refraction of light in water.
The shape of the freehand blown glass is deliberately composed and minimal to enhance its pictorial texture
Designer
Michela Cattai currently lives in Milan and attended the Accademia di Belle Arti. She was selected to participate in a collective exhibition at the Glass Museum in Murano. Despite her residence in Milan, her heart remained forever linked to Venice, where she decided to continue her studies on glass inside the Fornace (Kiln) to personally experiment with the practice of hand-blown glass. In April of 2017, Michela was invited to present her research on glass in an exhibition at the Italian Chamber of Deputies, in the Sala del Cenacolo, in Rome. Furthermore, she participated in various exhibitions, both personal and collective, and her works are displayed in private collections and international museums alike.
