They are coloured glass vases disguised as metal mesh lanterns. They are so similar to the original that they might turn on anytime.
After attending architectural studies together at the Royal College of Art in London, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their own firm, Barber & Osgerby, in 1996.
Over the past ten years, they have worked in several professional fields, designing furniture, lamps, interior decor objects, restaurants, retail stores, bottles, and electronic products for companies all over the world. One of their world-famous designs is the “Loop Table”, which was the first project they completed in 1997. In 2009, they started to collaborate with VENINI and have since designed a number of unique vases on a large scale, created in limited editions and exhibited in Milan, Porto Cervo, and London. Functionality, simplicity and high accessibility for the consumer have always been the distinctive traits of their designs.
