Matteo Thun

Matteo Thun graduated in architecture in Florence in 1975 and then moved to Milan where he started to collaborate with Ettore Sottsass.
In 1984, he founded the firm Matteo Thun, and from 1990 to 1993 he worked as a creative director for Swatch.
Winner of 3 Compassi d’Oro, Thun is a sophisticated designer with a long experience in the luxury industry: many five-star hotels all around the world carry his signature.
In his works, Thun strives for taste and balance. He focuses on letting different components interact with each other and on creating enjoyable as well as unexpected relations between architecture and its surroundings.

For VENINI he designed Susanni in 2011, a faithful reproduction of simple kitchen jars. Transparent, elegant, with contained and well-proportioned sizes, they can be an aesthetical response to everyday living.
