Aldo Cibic

Designer

Born in Vicenza in 1955, Aldo Cibic started to work with Ettore Sottsass in 1977 and then became his business partner in 1980. 
Cibic is one of the founders of the Memphis group, which marked an epochal passage in the universe of design and architecture. 
In 1989, he founded his own design firm in Milan and started to work internationally on urban architecture and interior design projects. At the same time, he launched collaborations with various Universities, in particular Domus Academy, the Politecnico di Milano and the IUAV in Venice, and was appointed Honorary Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai. 
In 2004, he was invited by Kurt W. Foster to present the project “Microrealities” at the IX Biennale in Venice, entitled Metamorph. He was invited back to Venice in 2010, for the XII Biennale entitled “People Meet in Architecture”, where he participated with the project “Rethinking Happiness”. His collaboration with VENINI is recent and has been entitled Lou.
