Gio Ponti

Designer

An architect and a designer, Gio Ponti is famous for designing homes, public buildings, and everyday objects, but he also distinguished himself in the world of painting and stage design.
During the 1930s, he conceived some of the most emblematic buildings in Milan that reflect the new architectural trends of the period: the home-tower in Corso Venezia, the Rai and Ferrania buildings, and the Littoria Tower in Parco Sempione.
In 1956, Ponti designed the Pirelli skyscraper and then dedicated himself to important residential complexes in Europe, the Middle East, Canada, the US, and South America. He began his collaboration with VENINI in the 1920s and created several lamps and objects for the brand.
